Bassani exhaust system information for identification

This page will be dedicated to the information about vintage Bassani expansion chamber exhaust system. This page will update with specifications, information, and pictures about Bassani exhaust systems.  Below are various pictures of a Bassani exhaust pipe for the Kawasaki Big horn (F5,F9) before restoration.  Bassani pipes of this era share some common characteristics as shown in the pictures regardless of application.  One of the most notable is the expanded metal heat shield, nearly all "high pipe" machines reguardless of application will have this welded on in the area where your leg would/could hit the pipe.  Low or under frame Bassani pipes will not have this and may be harder to identify on that feature alone (example street bikes).  Click the pictures to view larger

This performance exhaust for the Kawasaki F5 and F9 is much lighter than stock.  Because this is a high mounted pipe the reduction in weight lowers the center of gravity and thus improves handling.
Stock exhaust pipe weight: 14.8 lbs
Bassani performance exhaust weight: 7.8 lbs
