Kawasaki A1 250cc Samurai
250 CC Twin
​A1, A1SS (Samurai)
KA-2 (125cc twin road-race)
Twin cylinder rotary valve engine.  Carburetors are fitted to both sides of the engine.  Speedy bike that came in two varieties.  A low pipe street only model and an upswept pipe (SS) street scrambler model. Shares a lot of parts with the bigger 350cc version the A7.  1971 was the end of the 250cc rotary valve twin.  This would be replaced by the 1973 S1 (250cc) triple.  There was no 250cc version for 1972.

2 stroke Oiling System: Injecto-Lube (can NOT disable for premix use, lubricates crank bearings)

A wild technical marvel for the time.  125cc rotary valve twin with water cooling, dry clutch, 8 speed transmission.  Specifically designed for 125cc class GP racing.

​Road race model using the A1 engine with modifications including expansion chamber exhausts.  Makes 12 more horsepower over the stock engine.  Special suspension & wheels with larger brake drums.

Lubrication is achieved by pre-mix & Injecto-lube type system for the main bearings and crank pin.

Use frame# and engine# for positive identification of a real A1R
